Selected poems

The poet's concern for quotidian realities and eternal verities gives these poems substance meant to last, expressed in a style that is clear, concise, and intense ... lyrical but spare, the lines speak of many things--marriage, rivers, the world that is not enough with us--and the faint sounds of biblical and other literary allusions show asensibility that has assimilated the great tradition with the urgencies of today.
