Book of Five Rings

The Book of Five Rings was penned by Musashi in Japan in the 1600s to detail his sword-fighting philosophy and the Way of Strategy. Considered the classic study of combat strategy, its insights are often studied in business and management circles, as well as martial artists and swordsmen of all types. Musashi lived in times when sword-fighting was not just fencing, but a life-and-death struggle between two combatants, and he emerged victorious from single combat and in large-scale battles.
