Madeleine Albright and the New American Diplomacy

"America's first woman secretary of state, Madeleine Albright, has re-cast American diplomacy in the post-Cold War era. Thomas W. Lippman examines Madeleine Albright's performance as Secretary of State and assesses her impact. Lippman also analyzes U.S. foreign policy and the Clinton administration's management of world affairs at the onset of the 2000 election campaign.

Lippman offers a look at what lies behind the public statements by taking the reader onto Albright's plane as she jets around the world coping with one crisis after another."--BOOK JACKET.
