Reading Mark for the first time

In this brief yet insightful blueprint for reading and appreciating the Gospel of Mark, noted Scripture scholar Wilfrid Harrington emphasizes two main points. First, he provides a "road map" through the Gospel by describing its structure. Second, he explains Mark's focus on Jesus the Messiah and the importance of a theology of the cross in understanding this Gospel. This book is an indispensable guide to the shortest Gospel, written for a general audience. --from back cover.
